At Xplore Expeditions we believe in and support our sponsors because we trust and rely on their products.
To compromise on the gear and equipment we use in the southern oceans and polar regions could end in disaster.
Mile after mile and year after year, we push their equipments to the limits; but in my bunk, I can sleep because I know we have chosen the best.

Wichard’s range of quality deck hard ware, stainless fittings and low friction blocks are brilliant, and their HR (high resistance) D shackles take the incredible loads we push them to. Their new range of low friction, low weight turning blocks stands proud against any opposition. For great innovative ideas for on deck solutions we always look at Wichard first.

No slip, more grip, for racing or cruising: you really do feel safe and steady on deck with TBS. I have sailed over 56,000nm with TBS as the deck tread and I love it.

Propellers are for driving a boat efficiently: you want thrust when you need it, forward or reverse, but under sail you want no friction. Since 2000 I have been using Bruntons autoprops, for circumnavigation racing, and now for the last three years in polar expeditions.

This year Xplore Expeditions has installed an Interphase forward facing sonar. The regions which we explore demand constant attention, on deck and below the water, and the technology that Interphase has developed allows us to see what is in front of us BEFORE we get there. Many of the locations that we travel have no charted depth soundings and this new equipment gives us an extra set of eyes, underwater.
