The Philosophy
Our goal is to explore outlying and remote areas in the Southern Hemisphere, with the focus of expeditions on higher latitude sub-Antarctic islands, the Antarctic Peninsula, remote islands of the Pacific, and the west coast of Chile. The vehicle for these explorations is Xplore: first and foremost an expedition craft, designed to take people with dreams to extraordinary places.
Xplore Expeditions will always have a strong focus on charting, surveying and documenting the exploration and discovery of coastlines, possible harbours, and anchorages.
- The observation and study of wildlife and the recognition of localities of historical interest are always of major interest.
- In all of our travels the key objective is to learn, and explore new territories if the opportunity arises: but to only leave footprints in the sand and snow.
- In addition, our mission includes training and education within structured sail training programs, conducted under the parameters of the Royal Yachting Association (RYA).
The Antarctic Treaty :
There are few places on earth where there has never been a war, where the environment is fully protected and where the scientific research has priority. But the whole of the Antarctic continent is like this a land which the Antarctic Treaty parties have designated a natural reserve, devoted to peace and science (link yet to be implemented).
